Confirmed: Woodbridge's parade leaves Theatre Street at 10.50am on Sunday 8 November, with services on Friday 6 and Saturday 7. Road closures and parking.

Woodbridge Town Council has confirmed its 2026 Remembrance arrangements. The parade leaves Theatre Street at 10.50am on Sunday 8 November, with a children’s service on Friday 6 November and a service at the New Cemetery on Saturday 7 November, both at 10.45am. It is the same pattern the town has kept since at least 2023.

The quick answer

Updated 2 October: the town council published the 2026 programme on 29 September, so the dates below are now confirmed rather than expected.

  • Sunday 8 November, 10.50am: the parade leaves Theatre Street and marches to the War Memorial for the Act of Remembrance, the two-minute silence and the laying of wreaths. An open-air service on the Market Square follows, and the public are invited.
  • Friday 6 November, 10.45am: children’s service at the War Memorial.
  • Saturday 7 November, 10.45am: service at the New Cemetery.
  • Road closures and free parking for 2026 have not been published yet. Last year East Suffolk made its Woodbridge car parks free from 8am to 1pm on Remembrance Sunday.

The 2026 programme

From Woodbridge Town Council’s notice of 29 September 2026 and the poster published with it. (The council’s web address for the notice reads “2029”; the notice itself and the poster are for 2026.)

  • Friday 6 November: children’s service at the War Memorial, Woodbridge, 10.45am
  • Saturday 7 November: service at the New Cemetery in Woodbridge, 10.45am
  • Sunday 8 November: the parade leaves Theatre Street at 10.50am and marches to the War Memorial for the Act of Remembrance, two-minute silence and laying of wreaths; members of the public are invited to the open-air service on the Market Square which follows

The poster carries the badges of the Royal Engineers, 23 Parachute Engineer Regiment, the Queen’s Gurkha Engineers, the Royal British Legion and Woodbridge St Mary with Great Bealings.

What Woodbridge did in 2025

From Woodbridge Town Council’s notice of 3 October 2025:

  • Sunday 9 November: the parade left Theatre Street at 10.50am and marched to the War Memorial for the Act of Remembrance, the two-minute silence and the laying of wreaths, followed by an open-air service on the Market Square, open to everyone

The same notice carried East Suffolk Council’s parking offer: charges lifted for five hours at many council car parks, with Woodbridge free from 8am to 1pm.

Road closures

The town council’s closure notices for 2023 and 2024 gave the same times:

  • Friday children’s service: roads around Market Hill closed 10am to 11.30am, with the parking bays on the St Mary’s Church side of Market Hill out of use
  • Sunday parade and service: roads around Market Hill closed 10am to 12.15pm

If you are driving in on the Sunday morning, park before 10am. See parking in Woodbridge and roadworks and travel.

Felixstowe

Felixstowe Town Council’s Remembrance page, which the council arranges with the Felixstowe Royal British Legion and local clergy, still carries 2025:

  • Civic Remembrance Service, 9.45am, St John’s Church
  • Civic Act of Remembrance, 10.45am, the War Memorial on the seafront at Undercliff Road West
  • Service at the war graves, midday, Felixstowe Cemetery
  • Armistice Day: two minutes’ silence at 11am at the War Memorial

In 2026 Armistice Day, 11 November, is a Wednesday.

Still to be confirmed

  • Woodbridge’s 2026 road closures. The services are confirmed; the council has posted road closures as a separate notice in past years (2022, 2023 and 2024), so expect one nearer the day.
  • Felixstowe’s 2026 programme.
  • East Suffolk’s Remembrance Sunday free parking for 2026.
